TEXAS MS 150 TO RIDE THROUGH AREA THIS WEEKEND
The 40th Annual Texas MS 150 will travel through the area this weekend in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Bicyclists will travel in from Houston and Austin on Saturday before stopping in La Grange. On Sunday, they will ride through Round Top, Carmine, Burton and by Lake Somerville before crossing the finish line at Kyle Field in College Station.
The Houston route’s starting points include Addicks Park & Ride in the Energy Corridor, Royal High School in Brookshire, and Brahma Stadium at Bellville High School. The Austin route will have riders starting at the State Capitol and at Webberville Park.
Both routes will have lunch stops, either at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville or Calvary Baptist Church in Bastrop. They will end Saturday at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange.
The next day, bicyclists can choose to depart from La Grange and ride through either Round Top or Carmine, or start off in Burton. They will then continue north, stopping for lunch at Lake Somerville and traveling through Snook before making it to Kyle Field.
The public is asked to be mindful of those participating in the event and be prepared for potential delays.
