PANDA EXPRESS EXPLORING LOCATION IN BRENHAM
Brenham could be getting a Panda Express.
Local economic and development officials say the fast food restaurant chain, which offers American Chinese dishes, is evaluating opening a location in front of Walmart on Highway 36 South, between Bush’s Chicken and the Murphy USA fuel station.
Brenham | Washington County Economic Development Director Teresa Rosales said work is currently being done on platting a pad site parcel with Walmart and adjusting shared access easements to accommodate the site. City of Brenham Development Services Director Stephanie Doland said the next step after that will be getting a building permit from the city.
Doland said there is not a timeline for when construction of the restaurant would start, as plans have not yet been submitted. She cautioned that it is still very early on in the process, but said the chain is “strongly considering” Brenham.
If you don’t like what they’re building or where they’re building it, it’s a free market, put in a better offer. Businesses move where they think there’s money to be made. Obviously other grocers don’t see the demand for another store in Brenham. If you want a German restaurant, put the money together and open it. All anyone does these days is complain because what’s coming isn’t what they want. Get some investors together, go get a loan and open what you want, you take the risk. What does griping on the internet do for anyone?
I would like to see a cracker barrel or a German restaurant, bof which I love. We already have a Chinese buffet restaurant.
I love Panda Express. If it can be found on the border in the RGV, it definitely can thrive here.
Just what we need: another fast food restaurant in a congested area.
Is it just me, or has anyone ever wondered why, in an area as rich in German and/or Czech heritage, there is not a German and/or Czech restaurant? Dozens of Mexican, 3 Italians, but no German unless you want to go out-of-town.
we need another GROCERY STORE !!!!!! not another fast food joint
Right on!
You’re right about that sir.
Gary! How I agree!!! I know that we have H‑E‑B, Walmart, and BB already but good heavens!!! I went to H‑E‑B last Sunday morning and it was SO crowded, my husband and I could barely get around there were so many customers!! I like H‑E‑B but all their remodeling didn’t seem to add more room, took more from the parking lot, and moved so much product around, I couldn’t find what I wanted easily!!! Help us with a new grocery store someone!!!
How about healthy restaurants?
I agree
Amen Brother !!!!
We need an affordable grocery store with great produce and meat. Like Aldi!
That is a horrible location. The traffic is terrible in that area already and now we are going to add another business??? Move it down by Academy or Hobby Lobby where it is not as congested!
I could not agree more – the traffic situation between Murphy’s and Bush’s Chicken is ALREADY HORRIBLE.
You can complain to complain but you don’t really get an opinion unless you are the one with money building and developing.
The internet has been successful at giving people a false sense of “their opinion is wanted” when it in fact is not.
If you don’t like the location, then vote with your pocketbook and don’t buy from them.
Our only recourse is don’t patronize the restaurant. Which I won’t….
