BRENHAM STATE SUPPORTED LIVING CENTER CELEBRATING 50TH ANNIVERSARY

  

The Brenham State Supported Living Center invites the community to join tomorrow (Friday) in celebrating the facility’s 50th anniversary.

The center, located at 4001 Highway 36 South, will host a parade around the campus beginning at 10 a.m.  A ceremony and Washington County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will follow at 11 a.m.

The Brenham State Supported Living Center, formerly known as the Brenham State School, serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The facility opened in 1974 and serves a 10-county area.  According to the Texas Health and Human Services website, it is home to 264 residents.
