ACCUSED SEX OFFENDER GETS 35 YEARS IN PRISON

Juan Galindo (Grimes County Jail)

An accused sex offender was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Monday in the Grimes County District Court.

44-year-old Juan Alcocer Galindo pled guilty before 12th District Court Judge David Moorman to Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office received information in June of 2023 that Galindo had sexually abused two females under the age of 14 in the Plantersville area.

On July 6, 2023, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant James Racus and D.A. Chief Investigator John Wren traveled to Galindo’s work place and made contact with him.

He agreed to accompany them back to the Sheriff’s Office where an interview was conducted by DPS Lieutenant Juan Aguilera.

Galindo confessed during the interview to sexually assaulting one of the females.

While the interview was going on, D.A. Investigator Blake Baldobino led another team to execute a search warrant on Galindo’s residence, where they found corroborating evidence.

In September 2023, Grimes County Assistant District Attorney Meagan Callaham and Chief Investigator Wren traveled to Illinois, where the victims were now living to interview them.

According to the D.A.’s Office, Galindo will have to serve the entire sentence without a chance at parole.
