TWO POLICE OFFICERS HONORED BY THE 100 CLUB AT 2024 HEROES AWARDS

Bellville Police Sergeant Corey Hood and Hempstead Police Sergeant Kelvin Whorton were among those honored last (Tuesday) night at the 100 Club of Houston’s 2024 Heroes Awards.
The event was held at the Bayou City Event Center in Houston.
Hood and Whorton were recognized for their efforts in apprehending a violent cartel member, who had murdered his wife in Houston in May 2023.
The suspect also tried to kidnap a Bellville woman, while on the run from law enforcement.
During the Heroes Awards, the 100 Club recognized 19 law enforcement officers, one K-9 officer and 20 different Firefighters.
The 100 Club is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to the families of peace officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
