BRENHAM ISD EDUCATORS RECEIVE BRAZOS VALLEY EDUCATOR AWARDS

  

Four Brenham ISD educators were honored for their positive impact on students during the Brazos Valley Educator’s Society’s awards program this past weekend in Bryan.

The ceremony recognized educators and support staff from around the Brazos Valley region for the differences they make in children’s lives.

Michael Watts, who served this past school year as principal of Brenham Junior High School and will take on the role of principal at Brenham High School next school year, received the award for Top Administrator in the Brazos Valley.  Watts also received the Red Apple Award for having the most votes in his category.

Brenham High School Theatre Arts Director Kara Freeman was named the Brazos Valley High School Teacher of the Year.

Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) instructor Konstance Lester received the honor of Elementary Teacher of the Year. 

Cassie Desern, who also works at the ECLC, was named the Paraprofessional of the Year.

Brenham ISD congratulated the award recipients in a post on social media on Monday, saying the work of an educator is challenging, but it “clearly demonstrates the necessity of a servant’s heart.”  The district said, “We are proud of their accomplishment and honored they call Brenham ISD their home.”
