An accused sex offender will be spending the next 15 years in prison after agreeing to a plea agreement in Grimes County District Court.

44-year-old Margarito Anguiano was charged with a second-degree felony for Sexual Assault of a Child.

According to the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, a 14-year-old female student reported the sexual abuse to Navasota School Resource Officer Crystal Martin on September 25, 2023.

Navasota Police Investigator Travis Mullins and Texas DPS Agent Clay Zotz investigated the matter.

In an interview with Zotz back in January, Anguiano made a confession to part of the accusation, but denied the rest.

Anguiano accepted a plea agreement from Grimes County Assistant District Attorney Meagan Callaham, and plead guilty on Wednesday before 506th District Court Judge Gary Chaney.

In addition to spending 15 years in prison, Anguiano will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

  1. He should have received more jail time. Aren’t our children important? This child will have to deal with this trauma for the rest of their life. They will never be the same.
