CITY OF BRENHAM TO BEGIN GAS MAIN LINE PRESSURE TESTING PROJECT MONDAY

The City of Brenham is getting a gas main line pressure testing project underway on Monday.

The city is partnering with Miller Bros to complete the project, which consists of removing six abandoned gas taps and two unutilized gas valves, as well as pressure testing approximately 5,000 feet of steel gas main along South Chappell Hill Street, from South Market Street to Highway 290 East.

The utility work will last from Monday to July 26th.

The city says that during this time, citizens may see a flame near the 1300 block of Highway 290 East.  The flame is where the City of Brenham Gas Department will be purging the gas main in preparation for the gas work.  There may also be an odor of gas in the area of the project.

Work zones and traffic control will be present.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact City of Brenham Public Utilities at 979-337-7400.
