JUNETEENTH PARADE RIDES THROUGH DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

Washington County’s celebration of Juneteenth came to a close on Saturday.

The day began with a parade through downtown Brenham, featuring dozens of entries with local organizations, schools, churches, businesses and dignitaries participating.

The 2024 Juneteenth Royalty included Toddler King Trystan McDonald, Elementary Queen Jazmine Mathis, Intermediate Queen Ariana Villatoro and Intermediate King Zay Crawford, Senior Queen Zora Austin, and Adult Queen LaToya Beal.

After the parade, Fireman’s Park opened up for a full day of fun with the Washington County Juneteenth Association’s Jubilee.

Juneteenth is celebrated each year on June 19th to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States.

Photos of the parade can be seen below, and a Facebook Live video can be seen here.
