WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER FALL 2024 HOT FUND REQUESTS

  

Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday to vote on recommendations for hotel occupancy tax (HOT) grant funding disbursements for the fall.

The county typically awards around $25,000 in funding twice a year, for the fall and for the spring, to local tourism organizations in support of their operations or promotion of special events. 

This past December, the county awarded $23,895 in HOT funds to five organizations for the spring 2024 cycle.

Also on Tuesday, the court will consider the addition of new Washington County 911 supplemental policies to the county employee handbook.  In addition, it will look to purchase a 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 for the Engineering and Development Services Department and act on a non-appropriation addendum with the business technology solutions company, UBEO.

In other action, commissioners will consider:

  • Going out for requests for qualifications (RFQs) for delinquent tax collections for Washington County property taxes.  RFQs would be due to the county clerk by 10 a.m. on July 11th, with negotiations to begin after July 16th a t 9 a.m. between the county and the chosen RFQ provider.
  • Approval of the Independence 4th of July parade permit application.
  • Approval of a bailiff job description.
  • Proceeding with selling surplus county property through the county’s online auction service, GovDeals.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
