BRENHAM AMERICAN LEGION PRESENTS ANNUAL FIRST RESPONDER AWARDS
American Legion Post 48 in Brenham recognized some of the outstanding first responders of Washington County at an awards ceremony on Thursday.

Each year, the American Legion presents awards to members of the Brenham Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Brenham Fire Department and Washington County EMS.
Officer Nicolas Conforti was honored as the Brenham Police Department’s Officer of the Year.
Corporal Derrick Washington was named Officer of the Year from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Jon Devine, an apparatus operator for the Brenham Fire Department, won Firefighter of the Year.
Yasmeen Youssef was chosen as the Washington County EMS Paramedic of the Year.
The awards are given to those who exceed the duty requirements of their position and who demonstrate dedication and service to their community.
