CUBETTES’ MABIE SELECTED FOR ALL STAR GAMES IN CHICAGO

A member of the Brenham Cubette Softball Team has been invited to take part in the Alliance of Fastpitch Stars of Tomorrow Games.

Sarah Mabie is one of 60 girls that has been invited to compete in the games, which are being held in Chicago next month. Alliance Fastpitch is the national organizing body for travel softball.

Mabie underwent testing at one of their camps that was held recently in College Station, and scored very highly in multiple categories.

According to their website, www.thealliancefastpitch.com, Mabie had an average exit velocity of 69.691 mph (3rd best), a maximum exit velocity of 70.697 mph (2nd best), a maximum distance of 212.775 (2nd best), and a Position Power Score of 73.731 (4th best).

Mabie, who is about to enter her senior year of high school, has been a starter for the past three seasons on the Brenham Cubettes.

This past season, she had a .417 batting average, a .738 slugging percentage, a .450 on-base percentage, nine doubles, three triples, six home runs, and 34 RBIs. 

Mabie was selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All State Team, made First Team All-District, Academic All-District, was chosen by her teammates as the Offensive MVP, and was named Female Athlete of the Year by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at this year’s BHS Sports Banquet.
