SUEDE TO MAKE RETURN AS ‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’ BEGINS 20TH SEASON

One of the most requested bands for downtown Brenham’s “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” makes its long-awaited comeback tomorrow (Saturday) night as the concert series opens its 20th anniversary season.

The awarded Austin cover band Suede will bring its high-energy show to the corner of Alamo and Baylor Streets at 7 p.m., performing a range of songs from the 70’s to today’s hits.

This will be Suede’s first concert in Brenham since 2019, and Brenham Main Street Manager Leigh Linden, speaking during Tuesday’s Community Corner on KWHI, says people have been clamoring for the group to return.

The music is free to enjoy.  Local businesses and food trucks will be open to sell food and refreshments, and the Stray Katz Car Club will have its popular cruise-in set up at the west end of Alamo Street for guests to check out classic cars and hot rods.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebration for “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”, each performance this summer will have a different theme.  This weekend is patriotic, so concertgoers are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.

Tomorrow night’s event is sponsored by Dahmann & Associates, Seidel Schroeder, Brenham National Bank and Must Be Heaven.

KWHI’s Craig Montana will be the emcee for the concert and introduce Suede on stage.

Next up after Suede will be The Pictures on July 13th, the Brown Sugar Band on July 20th and The Spicolis on July 27th.
