‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’ CANCELLED SATURDAY EVENING DUE TO RAIN

Music lovers will have to wait an extra week for the return of downtown Brenham’s “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”.

The 20th anniversary season was scheduled to begin Saturday night on the Washington County Courthouse square, but due to the rains passing through the area, city officials made the decision to cancel the concert.

The performance was planned to feature the return of Austin cover band, Suede, for the first time in five years.  It was also supposed to be the group’s 10th appearance at the event.

The concert’s sponsors were Dahmann & Associates, Seidel Schroeder, Brenham National Bank and Must Be Heaven.

Up next this Saturday will be The Pictures, named “The Best Austin Wedding Band”, taking the stage at 7 p.m.

The music is free to enjoy.  Local businesses and food trucks will be open to sell food and refreshments.

The Stray Katz Car Club will also have their popular cruise-in set up at the west end of Alamo Street to check out classic cars and hot rods.

The theme for the evening is Luau Night.

Sponsors are BRIANNAS Fine Salad Dressings, Deep in the Heart Farms, Brannon Industrial Group and Valmont Industries.

The series has two other dates on the schedule: the Brown Sugar Band on July 20th and the Spicolis on July 27th
