FOUR CALLS THURSDAY, ONE EARLY FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Thursday and once early this (Friday) morning.

Just after 7 a.m. Thursday, the department responded to a home in the 2400 block of Valley Drive for utility service.  When units made it to the scene, they found a tree limb on a power line running to the neighbor’s house.  The fire department remained on location until the City of Brenham Electric Department arrived.

At 8 p.m., firefighters were called for a fire alarm at Argent Court Assisted Living, 2815 Victory Lane.  They arrived to find audible and visible alarms activated, but it was determined a resident activated a manual pull station, so the alarms were reset with no issues.

The department then responded twice to a home in the 1000 block of Davy Street, once shortly before 10:45 p.m. and again nearing 11 p.m.  During response to the first call, dispatch advised that the alarm company called back stating that proper code was received for cancellation.  Upon the second call, residents informed firefighters that the alarm system was malfunctioning.

At 5:30 a.m. today, units were dispatched to a crash without entrapment in the 2800 block of Highway 290 West.  They arrived to find a minor two-vehicle accident and were released from the scene by the Brenham Police Department.
