TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING

Two people were arrested on illegal dumping charges by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on Wednesday, 35-year-old Brenham resident Anthony James Rogers was arrested by the Brenham Police Department during a traffic stop for Possession of Marijuana and placed into the Washington County Jail.  At that time Rogers was wanted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Illegal Dumping.  Rogers posted $1,500 in bonds on both charges and was released the following day.

The arrest is the result of an investigation that began last month with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, involving illegal dumping on a county road just off State Highway 36 North.  As investigation continued, more bagged trash was dumped on several occasions, with two suspects being developed.  The suspects were identified as Rogers and 28-year-old Brenham resident Xaviernique Leontaye Fantroy. Fantroy was arrested and charged on July 17th with Illegal Dumping and released from custody the following day. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted with this investigation by the Washington County Environmental Health Department.  The Sheriff's Office reminds the public that Illegal Dumping will be investigated with those responsible being charged with a criminal offense.
