According to a release on Monday from the Brenham Police Department, members of the Brenham Police Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) located a wanted fugitive around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 14th, in the 400 block of South Polk Street in Giddings.

33-year-old Kesean Tyrell Graves had two active arrest warrants out of Washington County for Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Convictions, a state jail felony, and for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 – 400 or More Grams, a first degree felony.

The Brenham Police CRU followed Graves and notified the Giddings Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office.  Shortly afterward, Giddings police initiated a traffic stop on Graves’ vehicle.  However, according to the release, Graves evaded arrest and led law enforcement on a lengthy pursuit throughout Lee County.  The pursuit ended near a residence on FM 3403, north of Giddings, when Graves left the vehicle and fled on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, Graves was taken into custody by Giddings police.  The release states a multitude of illegal narcotics were found in his possession, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, promethazine with codeine syrup, alprazolam, and marijuana.

Graves was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he was booked on four counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds, Evading Arrest or Detention with previous convictions, and the two warrants from Washington County.

Other assisting agencies were the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Precinct 2 and 3 Constables, and DPS.
