LADY PANTHERS FINISH SECOND AT RICE CONSOLIDATED TOURNAMENT

The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team finished second at the Rice Consolidated Tournament in Altair on Saturday.

Burton swept Columbus in the semifinals 2-0, 26-24 and 25-22. Amaya Williams had a team-high six kills. Adison Harmel finished with 11 assists and eight digs. Laci Broesche dished out eight assists. The Lady Panthers also got 11 digs from Lexi Broesche and nine digs from Reagan Roemer.

Burton would then lose to Iola in the tournament championship match 2-0, 25-22 and 25-17. Lexi Broesche led the way with seven kills and 12 digs. Roemer also had 12 digs in the match. Harmel finished with 11 assists, while Laci Broesche added eight assists.

Next up: The Lady Panthers are traveling to Caldwell for a non-district match against the Lady Hornets. The JV begin things at 5pm, followed by the Varsity afterwards.
