DEL SOL FOOD CO. NAMES SAM SOMMER VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE, ACCOUNTING

  

Brenham-based Del Sol Food Company has announced the hiring of Sam Sommer as its new Vice President of Finance and Accounting.

Sommer has over 16 years of experience in finance and accounting, including 11 years as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Blue Bell Creameries.  Earlier in his career, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in various financial and audit roles with international clients.

In his new role at Del Sol Food Company, Sommer will oversee the company’s financial planning and accounting operations.

Del Sol Food Company is the maker of BRIANNAS Fine Salad Dressings, John Wm. Macy’s Bakery products and Café Mexicano Coffee.

Del Sol President and CEO Scott Eckert said the company is excited to welcome Sommer, as he “brings strong financial expertise and a wealth of business insight to our growing portfolio of brands.”

Sommer received his BBA in Accounting and his MS in Finance from Texas A&M University.  In addition, he received his CPA in 2008.
