SECURITY CAMERA CATCHES ALLEGED BURGLAR IN THE ACT

Tracy Forester (Fayette County Jail)

A Smithville woman was arrested last (Thursday) night for burglarizing a Fayette County residence after Sheriff’s Deputies tracked her to a convenience store.

Around 8pm, Deputies Wesly Arrison and Jason Fowler were dispatched to the 300 Block of West Point Loop in the West Point community for a reported burglary in progress.

The property owner told the Sheriff’s Office that they saw someone inside of the residence on a security camera. A neighbor also reported seeing a female with purple hair running away from the home.

After making sure the residence was clear, the Deputies located a running vehicle behind the house.

Another vehicle was seen leaving the area.  After making contact, the driver told Arrison and Fowler that she had been called by a friend to come pick her up.

The Deputies followed her to a convenience store, where they made contact with the friend, 44-year-old Tracy Forester. Arrison and Fowler noticed that she was sweating profusely and had numerous cuts on her legs consistent with someone that had been running through the woods.

She also matched the description given of the suspect.

Initially, Forester gave the Deputies a false name claiming to be her sister.

A background check revealed that she had an active felony warrant.

Forester was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation, the felony warrant, and an additional charge of Failure to Identify as a Fugitive.

She was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.

Deputies later inventoried the vehicle left behind at the residence, and found numerous items inside that are believe to have been stolen.

They also located Forester’s identifying information.
