CUBETTES WIN TWO IN GIDDINGS ON TUESDAY NIGHT

The Brenham Cubettes snapped their five-match losing streak with a pair of victories last (Tuesday) night in Giddings.

In the opener, the Cubettes beat Lexington 3-1. Brenham won the first set 25-19, Lexington won the second set 25-22, but then Brenham came back to win the next two sets 25-18 and 25-23.

Aubrey Morrison led the offense with 17 kills and four aces. She also had 16 digs on defense. Antyiahna Lang added six kills and five blocks. Brinley Benson dished out 22 assists. Claire Huff finished with 10 assists and 12 digs. Logan Hayslip led the defense with 27 digs. Zoe Zwerneman added 14 digs.

In their second match, the Cubettes swept Giddings 3-0. Brenham won the three sets 25-16, 25-14, and 25-19. 

Morrison had nine kills and eight digs. Lang finished with six kills. Benson dished out 16 assists, while Huff had 10 assists. Hayslip led the defense with 13 digs, while Zwerneman added nine digs.

The Cubettes are now 21-13 on the season.  They will open up district play on Friday night at College Station High School.  First serve is scheduled for 6pm.
