REGISTRATION FOR SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA ENDS FRIDAY

  

Tomorrow (Friday) is the final day to sign up to participate in Main Street Brenham’s 21^st Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza.

The event invites the public to usher in the fall season by creating colorful scarecrows to place around downtown Brenham.  Registration is available at www.downtownbrenham.com.

Over $1,400 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winning entries.  Categories include:

• Best Overall for $300, sponsored by Hermann Furniture.
• Most Votes for $200, sponsored by Christy Schlottmann Farmers Insurance.
• Judges Choice for $200, sponsored by KTEX/KWHI.
• Best Fall Theme for $125, sponsored by The Pomegranate.
• Most Creative for $125, sponsored by The Laundry Event Hall.
• Most Educational for $125, sponsored by Kay Robbins Remax.
• Silliest for $125, sponsored by Jet Set Chocolates.
• Cutest for $125, sponsored by Old 300 Title Brenham.
• Honorable Mention for $100, sponsored by Ant Street Inn.

Scarecrows must be set up in downtown by September 30^th.  Voting begins on October 1^st at sponsoring locations and runs through October 24^th.  Winners will be announced on October 29^th.
