REGISTRATION OPEN FOR BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE

Sign-ups are now open for Brenham High School’s annual Homecoming Parade through downtown Brenham.

This year’s parade is set for Wednesday, October 9th at 6 p.m. and will have a theme of “There’s No Place Like Homecoming”.

Participants can decorate their floats in one of two ways.  They can either follow “The Wizard of Oz” and utilize anything from the film, from Dorothy and her ruby red slippers to Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and the yellow brick road.  They can also represent what makes Brenham Brenham, portraying events, traditions and places that make the city special.

Parade entries are allowed to toss candy and soft items to the crowd.  Political campaigns cannot enter the parade.

A link to register for the parade is available here.

KWHI will have live coverage of the parade beginning at 5:45 p.m.

A judging contest will be held to recognize the best entries.  The winners will be announced during the halftime ceremonies at the Brenham Cub football game on Friday, October 11th against the Waco Lions at Cub Stadium.  Kickoff is at 7 p.m., with 6:30 p.m. pregame on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com.
