WASHINGTON CO. FAIR CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF THE CHAMPION DRIVE

  

The Washington County Fair hosted the 10th anniversary edition of the Champion Drive today (Thursday).

The program is a collaborative effort between the school district staffs of Brenham and Burton ISDs, local sponsors and numerous volunteers to provide a fair experience to students with special needs.

This year, 31 exhibitors participated in the Champion Drive, assisted by 79 volunteer buddies from local schools who helped them show rabbits, goats, barrows and bucket calves.

Belt buckles were presented to the showmanship winners and the outstanding buddies.

Showmanship:

  • Rabbit – Allie Bilski
  • Goat – Jing Ginnard
  • Barrow – Trenton Lampe
  • Bucket Calf – Trent Rogers

Outstanding Buddy:

  • Kendra Hill
  • Samuel Symm
  • Avery Maurer
  • Hailey Rudloff

The Champion Drive committee will award scholarships to graduating volunteer buddies.
