BURLESON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNNG OF PHONE SCAM

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a phone scam that is going on around the area.

If you receive a phone call or a text message stating that you have an outstanding warrant for your arrest, and they want you to transfer money or purchase gift cards in order to clear up a fine or warrant, it is probably a scam.

According to Burleson County Chief Deputy Bill Rios, law enforcement will never call or text you, and ask you to transfer money, or purchase gift cards for an individual to clear up a fine or a warrant.

If you do receive such a call, you are asked to please contact the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office at 979-567-4343, and speak to Chief Deputy Rios, or one of their investigators.
