AUSTIN CO. FAIR PARADE THURSDAY
The 97th Annual Austin County Fair parade will roll through downtown Bellville today (Thursday).
The parade starts at 10 a.m. and has a theme of “Rock Around the Stock”. The grand marshal for the parade is Alfred Hall Sr., a lifelong resident of San Felipe, fair supporter and community advocate.
The parade will line up on South Bell Street, circling around the courthouse square and continuing down East Main Street. It will then turn onto South Front Street and end at Austin County State Bank.
Today is Armed Forces Day at the fair, providing discounted entry for those with a military ID. All students from Austin County schools are admitted free until 5 p.m.
Livestock judging concludes today. Tomorrow (Friday) will be the youth livestock sale, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday will have the youth supreme and country fair auction at 1 p.m.
Entertainment this weekend will feature Little Texas at 8 p.m. and Aaron Watson at 10 p.m. tonight; Austin Snell at 8 p.m. and Corey Kent at 10 p.m. tomorrow; and Walker Montgomery at 9 p.m. and the Randy Rogers Band at 11 p.m. on Saturday.
KTEX-106’s Ryan Stone will broadcast live from the parade this morning and introduce tonight’s bands on stage.
