According to preliminary fundraising numbers on the Brazos Valley Gives website, $1,194,782 was raised on 4,217 donations.

The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley hosts the fundraiser each year for organizations located across the seven-county region of the Brazos Valley.  Tuesday served as an 18-hour day of giving, bringing the monthlong effort to a close.

A total of 198 nonprofits took part, including 133 in Brazos County, 29 in Washington County, 17 in Burleson County, nine in Grimes County, five in Leon County, three in Robertson County and two in Madison County.

Supporters were able to donate through the website or by going to in-person drop-offs at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce in Brenham, Caldwell Civic Center, Navasota Center and the Bryan-College Station Eagle.  All donations go directly to the donor’s charity of choice.

The final tallies from the fundraiser will be announced in November during a Celebration of Philanthropy event at the George Bush Library in College Station.  Several incentives and prizes will also be awarded.
