LA GRANGE CITY COUNCILMAN PASSES AWAY

The City of La Grange is mourning the death of City Councilman Arthur Bosque, who lost a months long battle with cancer at the age of 64.

Arthur was born on July 20, 1960, to Alfredo Bosque, Sr. and Oralia Lopez Bosque in Lockhart, Texas.

He moved to Fayette County in 1978 and worked as a butcher.  

Bosque served multiple terms on the city council, retired from the volunteer fire department after 31 years of service, and dedicated 20 years as an umpire.

He also enjoyed attending and performing at the Fayette County Opry and being Santa during the holiday season. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bosque at 4 pm on Sunday, October 27th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange with Father Ed Karasek officiating.

Immediately following Mass, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. A private interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.  

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School, Knights of Columbus Council #2574 “Scholarship Fund” or the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department.
