WHARTON, MULLINS SQUARE OFF IN HOUSE DISTRICT 12 RACE
Early voting continues ahead of next Tuesday’s election, and while the presidential and U.S. Senate races are drawing the most attention, there are some races of regional importance.
One of those is the House District 12 seat currently held by Republican Kyle Kacal, who opted not to run for re-election. Seeking to fill his position are Republican Trey Wharton and Democrat Dee Howard Mullins, both of Huntsville.
Wharton, a businessman who has served on the Huntsville School Board, says his priorities include securing the border and ensuring the needs of a growing population are met, whether it be infrastructure or resources.
Mullins, a former member of the Huntsville City Council, says issues important to her are rural healthcare, supporting farmers and making sure public schools receive what they need, especially in the district’s smaller communities.
Friday is the last day of early voting. Election Day is November 5th.
