BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON SCHOOL FIRST RATING
The Burton School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday.
First up on the agenda is a public hearing for Burton ISD’s School FIRST financial accountability rating. The rating system is designed to encourage public schools in Texas to better manage their financial resources.
Next will be a series of reports, including monthly updates from the superintendent and from Weaver and Jacobs Constructors on the bond project. Trustees will also recognize the achievements of students in band and cross country.
Once in regular session, the board will take up talks on the district’s Guardian safety program. Superintendent Vikki Curry said the board will consider making some adjustments to the program, though depending on the discussion, there may be details that need to be addressed in executive session.
Trustees will also consider approval of an English as a Second Language (ESL) waiver and a resolution to retain legal counsel regarding the construction project.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD cafeteria.
