LEE COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT GETS A NEW K-9 UNIT

  

Lee County Law Enforcement agencies are being joined in the battle against crime by a new K-9 Unit.

Lee County Precinct 2 Constable A.J. Gonzales and new canine “Rido” recently completed four weeks (160 hours) of extensive training at the PaceSetter K-9 training headquarters in Liberty Hill.

Constable Gonzales received his dual-purpose canine handler certificate and K-9 Rido was certified in narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension/patrol.

As a team, they also received their national certification from the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association, as well as, Dogs for Law Enforcement.

Gonzales and Rido will be available to assist all of the other law enforcement agencies in Lee County with their services.

According to Gonzales, he will continue to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the Constable’s Office in addition to serving as a K-9 handler.
