WASHINGTON CO. LIFTING BURN BAN

Washington County is rescinding its burn ban.

A press release today (Wednesday) from the Washington County Judge’s Office announced that the county is lifting the ban that went into effect in mid-October.  The end of the ban will be effective at midnight tonight.

Per the release, the decision to lift the burn ban comes after the rainfall received over the last week and a poll of the volunteer fire chiefs, of which a majority voted to end the ban.

The county encourages the public to use caution when burning in the county.  Anyone who has a controlled burn is asked to notify dispatch at the non-emergency number, 979-277-7373.
