BRENHAM FD: TWO TRANSPORTED AFTER VEHICLE CRASHES INTO HOUSE

The Brenham Fire Department reports two people were transported on Thanksgiving evening after a car crashed into a home.

Approaching 6 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle crash into a home in the 1400 block of Lake Ridge Drive.  They made location to find one vehicle that had crashed into the corner of the house into the garage, causing damage to the garage and the side of the home.

Units provided shoring to the house until a wrecker came to remove the car.  Once the house was shored up and debris was removed, firefighters cleared the scene.

The extent of injuries for the two people who were transported is unknown.

The call was one of four total for the fire department on Thursday.

At 7:45 a.m., BFD personnel responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at a home in the 1800 block of Stephanie Street.  Upon arrival, they found the alarm was malfunctioning, so they cleared the call.

Shortly before 10:15 a.m., the department received a report of a crash in the 2400 block of Highway 290 West.  Units made location to find a two-vehicle crash with no injuries.  They checked the vehicles and were released from the scene by the Brenham Police Department.

Just before 4 p.m., firefighters were called out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for a fire alarm.  However, they were cancelled enroute to the call, so they returned to service.
