The Blue Bell Aquatic Center is receiving a national honor.

City of Brenham Public Works Director Dane Rau informed city councilmembers today (Thursday) that the Aquatic Center has been chosen by the Association of Aquatic Professionals as one of the top 10 aquatic facilities in the country.  The specific individual placings will be announced at the association’s conference in February in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

Rau said the work of everyone at the Aquatic Center, including Aquatics Superintendent Tammy Jaster and Assistant Superintendent Kelsey Toy, keeps the facility focused on providing the public with valuable services and serving as a place for many different types of entertainment.

As part of the recognition, the Aquatic Center is featured on the cover of the November/December issue of Aquatics International Magazine.  The photo on the cover, taken by Communications and Technology Specialist Kevin Boggus, comes from a past Kids Gone Fishin’ event at the Aquatic Center.
