WASHINGTON COUNTY 4-H FOOD SHOW AND FOOD CHALLENGE RESULTS
Washington County 4-H recently hosted the 2024 Food Show and Food Challenge Contest.
As part of the cornerstone event, 4-H members from across the county prepared dishes and made presentations that were evaluated for quality, food preparation, nutrition, and food safety.
There were 15 Food Show entries and five Food Challenge Teams.
For the Food Show, in the Senior Division, Logan Boeker won first place for Appetizer, while Audrey Schmidt won first place for Side Dish.
In the Intermediate Division, Wyatt Schramme took home first place for Appetizer, while Arabella Clay came in second. Also in the Intermediate Division, Brooklyn Randermann was first in Side Dish, Reegan Huckert was first in Main Dish, and Cayd Wilkerson was first in Healthy Dessert.
For the Junior Division, Liam Damron won first place for Main Dish. Madison Fridye won first in Healthy Dessert, while Lonna Wunderlich came in second, and Elizabeth Nuti finished third.
Clover Kid Entries were Reid Windham, Hadley Fridye, Cassidy Bilski, and William Nuti.
For the Food Challenge, in the Senior Division, the Washington County Team, the Culinary Crusaders (Colton Bilski, Audrey Schmidt, Ryan Lutkenhaus, and Kinley Kroll), finished first.
In the Intermediate Division, the Choppin Champions (Colt Niemeyer, Holly Sommerfeld, Averey Johnson, and Mary Gajeske) finished first,
The Sunshine Cookers (Arabella Clay, Tinley Klehm, Harper Shay, and Kenley Baichtal) came in second,
And the Prairie Hill Cookers (Brooklyn Randermann, Rilynn Schroeder, Cayd Wilkerson, and Reegan Huckert) came in third.
In the Junior Division, the Wildflours (Madison Fridye, Kinsley Haferkamp, and Lonna Wunderlich) finished in first place.
Next up, the participants and teams advancing to the District 11 4-H Food Show and Food Challenge Contest will be competing December 10-11 in Cuero.
