BRENHAM POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOR DRIVING WHILE LICENSE INVALID, EVADING ARREST WARRANT

Two people were arrested by Brenham police on Monday, one for having an invalid license and another for an out-of-county warrant.

Around 11:45 a.m., Sergeant Tiffany Anderson conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Highway 36 North for an expired registration violation.  Police say the driver, 39-year-old Christopher Cruce of Brenham, was driving while his license was invalid.  Cruce was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid and Expired Registration.

Shortly after 3 p.m., Corporal Tina Bruno responded to the 200 block of Highway 290 East in reference to a warrant service.  18-year-old Tayshun Marshall of Brenham was placed under arrest for an active warrant out of Burleson County for Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle.  Marshall was taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in and released to jail staff.

  1. I can’t understand why the kids don’t get a ticket! Why is everyone taken to jail? Seems like, for months now, so many are always taken straight to jail on minor offenses. And I question – why were they even stopped in the first place?
