CUBETTES DROP DISTRICT OPENER TO COLLEGE STATION 56-43

The Brenham Cubettes dropped their District 17-5A opener to the College Station Lady Cougars 56-43 last (Tuesday) night.

College Station took an early 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Cougars would then outscore the Cubettes 15-12 in the second quarter, which gave them a 27-22 lead going into the locker room at half time.

College Station won the third quarter as well, 19-15, which gave them a 46-37 advantage. The Lady Cougars would also outscore the Cubettes 10-6 in the fourth quarter to seal the deal.

Janiyah Mathis led Brenham with 14 points, Antyiahna Lang added 11 points, and Jalayla Hancock finished with nine points.

Next up, the Cubettes have a bye on Friday. They return to action on Tuesday night when they host Montgomery at the Brenham High School. KWHI will broadcast the game live beginning with the pregame at 6:15pm, followed by the opening tipoff at 6:30pm on 1280AM,101.7FM. and KWHI.com.
