WALLER COUNTY HOLDING A VOLUNTARY WARRANT SURRENDER
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office has announced plans to conduct an upcoming voluntary warrant surrender.
The warrant surrender is going to be conducted at the Waller County Jail in Hempstead on Thursday, December 19, and Friday, December 20, from 9am to 5pm on both days.
Waller County Court at-Law Two Judge Elton Mathis has agreed to be at the jail in Hempstead during those hours on both days to process individuals with outstanding misdemeanor warrants for offenses that occurred in Waller County.
The Sheriff’s Office posted on their Facebook page that for anyone that missed a court appearance, this is a good opportunity to explain your situation to the judge, and get back on track with your case.
Individuals who turn themselves in are more likely to be allowed to return home the same day with instructions on when to appear in court next.
Individuals who refuse to appear are more likely to be deemed a flight risk, and be held on higher bonds when eventually arrested.
