The Brenham Heritage Museum and the Brenham High School Theatre Booster Club are the beneficiaries of nearly $15,000 in grant funding awarded by the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Brenham.
The museum is receiving a $10,000 grant which it will use, along with $2,887 in matching funds, to install new window shades, tinting and drainage spouts to improve energy efficiency and protect the museum building, its artifacts and exhibits.
The booster club will put its grant of $4,896, combined with $1,224 in matching funds, toward new lighting infrastructure for the theater, enhancing lighting during performances and offering education opportunities for performers and lighting technicians.
