NINE SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT
Nine people pleaded guilty this week in 21st District Court before Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.
36-year-old James Edward Pennygraph III of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years in prison and ordered to pay $180 in restitution for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony enhanced to a second degree felony.
27-year-old Jamal Dekkane Johnson of Hillsboro, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 2 years in prison for Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear, a third degree felony. Johnson also had his probation adjudicated and was sentenced to 573 days in state jail for three cases of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, all state jail felonies.
32-year-old Courtney Shanique Williams of Brenham, sentenced to 10 years’ probation for Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony. Williams was also fined $500 and must complete 100 hours of community service, complete a substance abuse felony punishment facility program and maintain no contact with the victim in the case.
39-year-old Brian O’Keefe Watkins of Brenham, sentenced to 8 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a first degree felony. Watkins was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service. He additionally received a sentence of 5 years’ probation for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a third degree felony.
40-year-old Michael Bettis Jr. of Katy, sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Assault of a Family Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, a third degree felony. Bettis was also fined $1,000 and ordered to pay a $100 family violence fee to a shelter, complete a batterers intervention program and perform 200 hours of community service.
50-year-old Christy Franks McSwain of Hempstead, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 435 days in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony. McSwain was also fined $430.
47-year-old Heidi Jo Heikkila of Simonton, sentenced to 81 days in the Washington County Jail for Attempted Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor.
27-year-old Jackson Key Thomas of Houston, sentenced to 2 days in the Washington County Jail, fined $500 and ordered to continue a drug rehab program for Attempted Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A misdemeanor.
31-year-old Christian Sanchez Rodriguez of Houston, sentenced to 6 months’ probation for Attempted Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A misdemeanor. Rodriguez must also pay a $500 fine and $180 in restitution, in addition to completing 50 hours of community service.
