THREE SHOOTING SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN GRIMES COUNTY

  

Three suspects wanted in connection with a reported shooting in Victoria were apprehended in Grimes County.

On Thursday night, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies received word from the Victoria Police Department to be on the lookout for a grey 2024 Chevy Trax that was involved in a shooting earlier that evening.

The notice also said the subjects were believe to be armed and dangerous.

Around 9pm, a Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 6 near the intersection with Highway 105.

The Deputy along with assistance from DPS Troopers and Navasota Police Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop near FM 3090.

One female driver and two male occupants were detained.

A probable cause search turned up a backpack containing marijuana and digital scales. A semi-automatic 22-caliber rifle that was reported stolen was also recovered.

In addition to that, the investigation led to the discovery of exterior and interior damage to the vehicle that was consistent with gunshots.

Lexey Walton was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a Marijuana Under 2 oz.

McArthur Mathis was charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury to a Date, Household, or Family Member, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Marijuana Greater Than 4oz but Less Than 5 Pounds.

Devron Hodges was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Marijuana Greater Than 4oz but Less Than 5 pounds.
