WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FIVE FROM FRIDAY TO MONDAY

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports five arrests were made from Friday to Monday.

Shortly after 1:15 p.m. Friday, Corporal Rosa Salinas stopped a vehicle in the 11700 block of Highway 290 West for a defective tail lamp.  A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and a handgun.  The driver, 36-year-old Daniel Frederick Dejean of Austin, was placed into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Marvin Wayne Witherspoon

At 6:30 p.m., Deputy Jacob Faske conducted a traffic stop in the 12600 block of FM 50 for speeding.  Investigation revealed that the driver, 43-year-old Marvin Wayne Witherspoon of Bryan, had four active arrest warrants for Driving While License Invalid, No Driver’s License, and two counts of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.  Witherspoon was taken to the Washington County Jail.

Juan Lopez Zapata

Just past 5 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Faske was dispatched to Highway 36 South and All Jersey Road in reference to a welfare concern.  Contact was made with 46-year-old Juan Lopez Zapata of Hempstead, who the sheriff’s office says fled on foot but was later detained.  Investigation determined that Zapata had an active arrest warrant out of Waller County for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was placed into custody for the arrest warrant and additionally charged with Resisting Arrest or Transport and Interference with Railroad Property.

Monica Avoly Enriquez

Approaching 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Deputy Faske stopped a vehicle in the 1700 block of Highway 105 for speeding.  After investigation, the driver, 21-year-old Monica Avoly Enriquez of Navasota, showed to have an active arrest warrant for Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual – Criminal Negligence.  She was booked in at the Washington County Jail.

Kaylynn Genell Ceol Hayes

Around 5:30 a.m. Monday, Corporal Eric Crosby initiated a traffic stop near the 200 block of South Blue Bell Road for an expired registration.  The driver, 32-year-old Kaylynn Genell Ceol Hayes of Brenham, showed to have an active arrest warrant for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.  Hayes was taken into custody for the warrant and also charged with Driving While License Invalid – Enhanced.
