BURTON CRUSHES SOMERVILLE 78-10 IN DISTRICT GAME
After a couple of tough losses to Bremond and Mumford recently, the Burton Lady Panthers got back on the winning track in a big way with a dominating 78-10 victory over the Somerville Lady Yeguas earlier this (Friday) evening.
Burton followed the "score early and often" philosophy by outscoring Somerville 30-4 in the first quarter, and 26-2 in the second quarter to give them a 56-6 lead at halftime.
The Lady Panthers would ease up in the second half by winning the third quarter 12-2 and the fourth quarter 10-2.
Adison Harmel led Burton with 16 points. Laci Broesche finished with 14 points. Lexi Broesche and Jennifer Lopez added 13 points each. Aerynn Huntsman chipped in with 11 points.
The Lady Panthers finish the first half of district with a 4-2 record. They have a bye on Tuesday, so they won't play again until next Friday when they travel to Snook.
