Two members of the Brenham High School Band will perform with a Texas All-State group as part of the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and Convention next month.

Kyle Freeman and Brett Campbell were chosen for the prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the District, Region, and Area levels.

This is the first time for them to perform as members of a TMEA All-State organization. Kyle is the son of Jeff and Kara Freeman. Brett is the son of Aaron and Jennifer Campbell.

The Clinic and Convention are being held on Saturday, February 15, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can achieve. Students are selected through a multi-level process that begins with about 70,000 students from around the state vying for the honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles.

The Texas Music Educators Association sponsors the Texas All-State competition. Only the top 2.6% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians.

While under the direction of nationally recognized conductors, All-State students participate in four days of rehearsals.

Their performances for thousands of attendees then bring the event to a close.
