BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO THREE CALLS ON FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Friday.

Firefighters were first dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire around 8:30am in the 1000 block of West Jefferson Street.

BFD Units arrived at the location and found nothing showing from the exterior. Firefighters entered the home and found light smoke inside.

It was determined that the smoke and the smell were coming from the air conditioning unit. BFD members advised the homeowner to have their A/C company to come and check out the unit.

The second call came in just before 10:30am. Brenham Fire Department members were dispatched to the 600 block of North Park Street for a transportation incident.

A BFD unit arrived on location to find that a single vehicle had hit a sign.

The driver was not hurt. BFD members picked up the debris and then returned to service.

The final call came in just after 2:30pm to the 800 block of West Third Street. Firefighters arrived to find light smoke inside a building.

BFD members found a washer causing the smoke, so they turned the power off to the washer, and advised maintenance to have the belt replaced.
