LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATES THREAT AT DIME BOX ISD
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigated a threat against Dime Box ISD by a juvenile after being notified on Thursday night.
According to Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger, he was made aware of a threat around 9:30pm.
Lee County Deputies and a Sergeant with the Criminal Investigations Division made contact with the involved juvenile and their parent/guardians.
The subsequent investigation concluded that there was no basis to pursue criminal charges.
Dime Box ISD Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy was kept apprised of the investigation during the night. The matter was ultimately referred to the Dime Box school administration.
Even though there was not a threat to the public, extra law enforcement from the sheriff’s office and Precinct Four Constable Steven Pohorelsky were present for the start of school on Friday.
