BELLVILLE POLICE: NO NEW CONFIRMED SIGHTINGS OF ESCAPED INMATE, ‘LOOKING LESS LIKELY’ THAT HE REMAINS IN CITY LIMITS
The search continues for an inmate who escaped from custody at a Bellville hospital, but local police say there have been no confirmed sightings since his escape Thursday night.
In an update shared this (Saturday) morning on social media, the Bellville Police Department said recently obtained video shows that Salvador Saucedo’s last known location as of 7:30 p.m. Thursday was the 800 block of North Granville Street in Bellville. Saucedo was traveling northbound in the direction of Center Hill Road and away from the Clark Park area. His current location is unknown.
Police say there have been possible sightings of the subject in other parts of Austin County and in outside counties, but none have been confirmed. While the police department cannot state with certainty if he is or is not still in the city or county, it says it is “looking less likely” that he is still within Bellville city limits.
Saucedo was in the custody of the Waller County Sheriff’s Office and undergoing testing at Midcoast Medical Center Bellville when he escaped around 7 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Saucedo was facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Peace Officer. Bellville police and the Austin County Sheriff’s Office said he is also a registered sex offender and is wanted for Stalking and Indecency with a Child out of Brazos County.
Saucedo is a Hispanic male who was said to be wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans. He has face tattoos, missing front teeth and brown hair with red highlights. He was not handcuffed when he escaped, and it is unknown if he is armed.
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville Police Department, Austin County Sheriff’s Office and DPS continue their efforts to locate the subject.
Bellville police say they have repeatedly checked local parks and restrooms and will continue to do so.
Anyone who sees Saucedo is asked to contact 911 or the Waller County Sheriff’s Office at 979-826-8282.
Police remind the public to keep their homes, vehicles and outdoor buildings secure, particularly at night.
I would be worried that he was still in one of those empty houses along the Main Street going into Bellville unless they’ve all been checked. JS..if he can’t be found I do hope he’s far away.
