WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO HEAR REPORTS, CONSIDER COURTHOUSE REPAIRS

A series of reports will lead Tuesday’s Washington County Commissioners meeting.

First will be the Washington County Historical Commission’s annual report, postponed from the court’s previous meeting.  Next will be a quarterly update from the Economic Development Department and the annual report from the District Attorney’s office.

Later will come monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables, elections and veterans service office.

In action items, commissioners will consider a proposal for “life safety repairs” at the Washington County Courthouse.  The proposal lists repairs such as removing marble spandrel panels below the windows, removing a marble header above the ADA entrance, applying temporary plywood panels and waterproofing at the removed marble panels, and restoring landscaping upon project completion.

The proposal listed in the agenda packet comes from Phoenix 1 Restoration and Construction out of Farmer’s Branch, north of Dallas, and is valued at $249,483.

Other business will include a resolution adopting guidelines and criteria for granting tax phase-in in Washington County.  Brenham City Councilmembers voted in December to re-adopt the guidelines for tax phase-in in a city reinvestment zone.

The court will also vote on inviting bids for the EMS Station #2 parking lot project.  Bids will be due to the county clerk’s office by February 13th at 10 a.m.

In addition, commissioners will look to declare certain items and assets belonging to the Precinct 2 Constable’s Office as salvage county property, due to no longer being in working condition.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
