The Bellville Police Department said there was no new information to provide on their search for Salvador Saucedo as of 10 p.m. Saturday.  Police say there are no confirmed sightings within the city or Austin County, and that, while there has not been anything to prove otherwise, they do not believe the subject is still within the Bellville area.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office announced this (Monday) morning that it is partnering with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force to assist in the search.  The sheriff’s office said it is actively following up on tips as it receives them.

Saucedo escaped from Midcoast Medical Center Bellville around 7 p.m. Thursday while undergoing testing and while in the custody of the Waller County Sheriff’s Office.  Bellville police say his last known location as of 7:30 p.m. Thursday was traveling northbound in the 800 block of North Granville Street in Bellville, heading toward Center Hill Road and away from the Clark Park area.

Per the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Saucedo was in custody on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Peace Officer.  He is also a registered sex offender and was previously charged out of county for Stalking and Indecency with a Child.

Saucedo is a Hispanic male who was stated to be wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans.  He has face tattoos, missing front teeth and brown hair with red highlights.  He was not handcuffed when he escaped, and it is not known if he is armed.

Bellville police say officers will continue to watch for Saucedo and remain vigilant while out on patrol.  They encourage residents to lock their doors, vehicles and outdoor buildings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Waller County Sheriff’s Office at 979-826-8282 or Waller County Crime Stoppers at 979-826-8266.  In case of an emergency, call 911.
