16 SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT

  

Sixteen people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st District Court before Judge John Winkelmann.

37-year-old Corey Thomas of Brenham, probation revoked and sentenced to 6 years in prison for Continuous Violence Against the Family, a third degree felony.

30-year-old Kendrick Trevon Thomas Jr. of Brenham, sentenced to 6 years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.  Thomas was also sentenced to 18 months in state jail for a state jail felony-level charge of Burglary of a Building.

18-year-old Jacobie Williams of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery, both second degree felonies.  Williams was also sentenced to 2 years in prison for Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm, a third degree felony. 

24-year-old Nelson Jose Torres-Lopez of Houston, sentenced to 2 years in prison for Assault of a Peace Officer, a second degree felony.  Torres-Lopez is subject to an immigration hold.

22-year-old Angel Yahir Rocha-Gaytan of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years in prison for Escape from Custody, a third degree felony.  Rocha-Gaytan was also sentenced to 12 months in state jail for four counts of Attempted Smuggling of Persons, a state jail felony.  Rocha-Gaytan is subject to an immigration hold. 

23-year-old Charles Wayne Compton of Brenham, sentenced to 3 years in prison for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony.

28-year-old Daniel Martinez Ramirez of Brenham, sentenced to 193 days in the Washington County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under 15 Years of Age, a state jail felony. 

61-year-old Leslie Graham Letbetter of Houston, sentenced to 3 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.  Letbetter was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program. 

45-year-old James Robert Griffin of Belton, sentenced to 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second degree felony.  Griffin must also perform 200 hours of community service and complete an intermediate sanction facility program, as well as a drug offender education program. 

34-year-old Lacey Lenae Black of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a third degree felony.  Black must also pay a $500 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program.

44-year-old Juan Lopez Jr. of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Arson, a state jail felony.  Lopez must also pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service. 

37-year-old Brandon O’Neal Andrews of Washington, sentenced to 3 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.  Andrews will also have to perform 100 hours of community service and complete an intermediate sanction facility program. 

21-year-old Monica Avoly Enriquez of Navasota, sentenced to 3 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Injury to a Disabled Individual, a state jail felony.  Enriquez must also pay a $500 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and complete a drug offender education program. 

29-year-old Xavier Alvin-Malik Taylor of Brenham, sentenced to 3 years’ probation for Evading Arrest with Previous Conviction, a state jail felony.  Taylor was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

24-year-old Charles Edward Dorsey II of Washington, sentenced to 2 years’ probation for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A misdemeanor.  Dorsey must also pay a $250 fine and a $100 family violence fee, perform 50 hours of community service and complete a batterers intervention program.

48-year-old Jerry Alvin Bertleson of Taylor, sentenced to 18 months’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A misdemeanor.  Bertleson will also have to pay a $250 fine and a $100 family violence fee, perform 50 hours of community service and complete a batterers intervention program.
